Super sales-team member Stephen Mahon hit a major milestone during lockdown – he sold his 1000th car.
Many of you will know Stephen – he has been with Redline for five years having come from the hospitality industry with no automotive experience, but he took to the job like a duck to water.
They say you should never trust a man with a spreadsheet, but “Mahonie” has been keeping a record of all his sales since he started, achieving his 1000th sale on 13th May 2020 in a mere 1,822 days. Some of you – including our management team – may be thinking “what took you so long?”, but that’s a pretty good batting average. And it’s not just the “how many” that’s impressive, it’s the “how much” – over £42 million of cars. The thousandth car was, incidentally, a Tesla – a sign of the times?
The timing was also pretty remarkable. When Redline closed its showroom in March, he only had 18 cars to go to hit the 1000 milestone. On his return, Stephen managed to hit his target just five days before his 5-year anniversary at Redline, completing the 18 sales in just 12 days. all the more remarkable given the restictions imposed upon all business and customers during lockdown, and we are delighted that he was able to do so safely and successfully.
My most memorable sale? All the ones that come back more than once….
Stephen is best known for his love of fish and chips, his Christmas jumper collection and his devotion to his son Charlie and Dachshund Geoff, who can both outrun him and out think him with ease. But that’s why we love him.
Great job Mahonie – we officially bestow on you the title “Motortrade legend” 😀
