Sponsorship profile: Prologue Racing
Racing on two wheels and without a drop of petrol, Redline are proud sponsors of Prologue Racing – but why do we sponsor a cycling team?
The UK has become one of the dominant nations in world cycling over the last decade, and Yorkshire undoubtedly offers one the richest seams of cycling talent in the country, maybe even the world. At Redline, we love to support local talent – but bikes and cars?
Prologue Racing Team is based in Harrogate and owned and run by John Reid – one of Redline’s good customers. The Prologue Cycling shop is well known in Harrogate for its great coffee and cakes, and bikes if you are a cyclist….
“Prologue Racing finished 2017 as the No1 team in Yorkshire”
Prologue Racing will compete in Category 2 races in 2018, moving up from Category 3 in 2017 having finished as the No1 team in Yorkshire. Their successes on the road included 10 wins and 23 podiums and their first National Champion with Cavan Walker in the junior 25 mile TT. The business of training and racing is serious, and the team is lucky to have some seriously talented and committed riders.
Why we support cycling.
In case you hadn’t noticed, cycling is a pretty big deal in Yorkshire (and vice-versa). With the Tour de France on our doorstep in 2014 and the Tour de Yorkshire now firmly established on the UCI Continental Tour, bike riding is here to stay.
Our customer like bikes.
There are plenty of similarities between supercars and super bikes. Carbon fibre is de riguer, as is the latest tech and aero. In our 2017 customer poll, hundreds of you said that you loved cycling.
One of Redline’s ongoing missions has been to help develop local sporting talent, petrol-powered or otherwise. So far we have helped championship winning racing drivers (European Le Mans Series), cricketers, and bike racers in the local community. We’ve also helped cyclists power themselves across America and Europe and intrepid drivers to the Arctic Circle and from Britain to Beijing whilst raising funds for charity.
OK, so there’s no denying it – sometimes road users rub each other up the wrong way. We won’t get into a debate about it, but we encourage everyone to respect their fellow road users – particularly the vulnerable ones – even if they probably shouldn’t be wearing lycra…
Like Redline, Prologue Cycling specialise in high-end, sporting machines and also offer custom builds from well know manufacturers such as Cervelo and Bianchi as well as more specialised brand such as Sarto. They offer a friendly, expert service and can help you improve your fitness and cycling as well as, ironically, serving you some really great cake.

Have you ever wondered when you will be able to pay for a car with a cryptocurrency like Bitcoin? Technology and car dealers have not always been good bedfellows. If the stereotype is to be believed, many dealers still prefer a pocket stuffed with ten-pound notes and a well-thumbed copy of Glasses Guide to the electronic alternatives […]
It seems like just yesterday that Redline Racing first started trading from a small used car pitch in the picturesque Yorkshire village of Pool-in-Wharfedale – to some, at least.
